On 22nd April 2013, the Occasion of the Birthday celebration of our Beloved Founder Rt. Rev. Dr. Symphorian Keeprath OFM Cap., three Novices of the Missionaries of Jesus Congregation pronounced their vows at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Jalandhar Cantt, in the presence of a big congregation.

Rev. Sr. Ranit Pallasseril MJ, the Superior General of the Congregation, received their Vows. Rt. Rev. Dr. Symphorian Keeprath OFM Cap., our Founder Father, presided over the Eucharistic Celebration which was concelebrated by over 25 priests including Msgr. Fr. Thomas Valiaparambil, the Vicar General, and Rev. Fr. Jose Thekkumcherikunnel, the Chancellor of the Jalandhar Diocese.

Exhorting the gathering and the Sisters who made the profession Bishop said, “Religious life is not a profession, it’s a relationship of love with the Lord”. Father Mathew Palachuvattil in his sermon said, “These three young sisters have come up to the altar of the Lord realizing the love of God. And they prove that they are ready to face the challenges to preach the word of God to the people. Let us encourage them with our prayers and wishes.”

Bp. Symphorian Keeprath OFM Cap. was born on 22 Aug 1931 in Kerala. He is a great Missionary with clear Vision and Mission in mind to lead the Church of God. Being the 1st Bishop of Jalandhar Diocese he has taken a lot of trouble to build up many Churches and institutions to sow the seed of faith in the hearts of the people. There are many Fathers, Sisters and Laity who travelled with him in the course of faith formation.

In 1993 Bp. Symphorian Keeprath founded the Missionaries of Jesus Congregation with the motto to love Jesus, to surrender to Jesus and to proclaim Jesus. This little Congregation is growing with the help and assistance of Rt. Rev. Dr. Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, the Archbishop of Delhi, and now it is not limited to Punjab alone but it has established its branches in the other states of our Country too. The cooperation and support of the Diocesan Fathers and Sisters deserve our appreciation in this regard. The timely support and help of Rev. Fr. Mathew Palachuvattil and Rev. Fr. Antony Vezhappilly made the day more grace filled and memorable one.

“We the members of the MAJ family are happy and grateful to God for granting us the opportunity to celebrate the B’day of our Founder, and for the First Profession of Novices Lesly, Nimisha and Anu Maria”, said Rev. Sr. Ranit MJ, the Superior General.
